What You Need To Know
Philosophy and Approach
Music should be learned like a language: Speak and understand now, read later.
We start by singing, listening to, moving to, storying about, and loving the songs we will learn. We connect with the music socio-emotionally We break it down into parts using movement and games. We use stories, visuals, large-muscle props, and repetition to instill a large-picture concept of what music is.
Finally, we realize that music is really just showing up and repeating tiny, happy things we already know.
I have tried many books and methods, and the Hoffman Method is the best one I know. I am so grateful to my friend and mentor, Joseph Hoffman, as he has made my career a total blast.

Kinderbach: A fun, age-appropriate preparation for piano for the little guys.

Tuition
Kinderbach: $240 for 10 sessions includes materials ($25 Early Bird Discount if enrolled by 8/3)
Piano Teams: $750 for 18-week semester, divided into 5 equal monthly payments of $150. $65 annual Registration fee covers all core course materials, administrative costs, and licensing fees for the Hoffman Method.
Private Piano:
Children younger than 7: 30-minute lessons 1x/week, $630 for the semester/ 5 equal monthly payments of $126.
Children ages 7+: 45-minute lessons 1x/week, $1,000 for the semester/ 5 equal monthly payments of $200.
$65 annual Registration Fee covers all core course materials, administrative costs, and licensing fees for the Hoffman Method.
Piano Teams and Private Piano accounts paid in full receive a $20 discount.

Commitment Package: $750 for 5 months of weekly 45-minute lessons, no make-ups allowed.
4-lesson Package: $220 must be used within 3 months.

Fall 2015–Spring 2016 Policies
18-Week Semester Lessons & Classes
Payment Options: Account holders can pay by online credit card payment, Auto-Pay, cash, or personal check. A $20 per semester discount per student enrolled in an 18-week class or lesson will be given to account holders using Auto-Pay or personal check to pay for the full semester, and to account holders using Auto-Pay to pay monthly installments.
Semester Commitment: Your enrollment at Danielle Rosa Piano Studio signifies your commitment to continue lessons for the fall and spring semesters, including those
online lessons at cvdominios.com, at the day/time agreed upon at enrollment and to complete payment of the entire semester tuition (in full or in 5 equal monthly installments per semester) for both fall and spring semesters. Each semester equals 18 weeks of instruction. Please check our calendar for exact dates. Registration fees are non-refundable except in the unusual circumstance where a lesson time acceptable to both parties cannot be found during the scheduling process, in which case all registration fees and tuition payments already paid will be refunded in full. If enrollment is cancelled on or before September 1, tuition payment will be refunded in full. After September 1 Fall Semester cancellations will not be accepted and account holder is obligated to pay the entire Fall Semester tuition. Spring semester can be cancelled between December 1 and January 5 with no penalty. If Spring Semester is cancelled between January 6 and January 31, a $50 cancellation fee will be incurred.
After February 1 cancellations will not be accepted and account holder is obligated to pay the entire Spring Semester tuition. All cancellation notices must be provided to the Studio office in writing or emailed to thedaniellerosa@gmail.com.
Tuition Payment: The first tuition installment and annual registration fee are due upon enrollment. If payment of first tuition installment and registration fee are not received by the Studio office within 48 hours of enrollment, your lesson time will be forfeited. You may choose to pay for the entire semester up front, or you may make payments in the five equal monthly installments. Installment amounts do not vary based on the number of lessons received in a month. Monthly tuition installments are due the 1st of each month. If monthly tuition installment is not received by the 5th of the month, a $15 late fee will be assessed. If the Studio cannot cash a check or withdraw an auto-pay payment due to inefficient funds, a $25 NSF fee will be assessed.
Missed/Cancelled Lessons: Make-up lessons are not offered if lessons are missed or cancelled by the student. If you know in advance you will need to miss a group or partner lesson, your teacher can send a video summary of the lesson for you, along with homework, at your request. If your teacher has to cancel a lesson for any reason, that lesson will be rescheduled at a time convenient for you and the teacher.
Private Check-In Weeks for Group Students Two times each semester, all group students will schedule a private 45-minute lesson in place of the regular weekly group lesson. Registration will be announced by the studio at least 2 weeks in advance.
10-week Semester Lessons & Classes
Tuition Payment/Refunds: Tuition and registration fee are due in full upon enrollment. Receipt of your payment reserves your placement in the class for which you have registered. If you cancel 11 days or more prior to the first day of class, 100% of the tuition will be credited toward a future class at the Studio. If you cancel 10 days or less prior to the start of the session, no credit or refund will be given. Registration fees are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled due to low enrollment. All cancellation notices must be provided to the Studio office in writing or sent to thedaniellerosa@gmail.com via email.
Missed/Cancelled Classes Make up classes are not offered if classes are missed or cancelled by the student. If you know in advance that you will need to miss class, with teacher approval, you can request to attend a class at another time for that week, if available. If the teacher cancels a class, a full refund will be issued for the cost of missed classes, or Studio credit can be issued.
Miscellaneous Policies
Food/ Drink: Please do not bring food (including gum) or drink into the Studio, unless otherwise specified for Performance Parties.
Vacation Weeks: During the fall semester, no lessons will be held during the week of Thanksgiving and during Winter Break. During the spring semester, no lessons will be held during Spring Break and during the Memorial Day weekend. See the calendar on our website for exact dates.
Inclement Weather: When driving conditions around the Studio appear dangerous due to weather, our policy is to cancel lessons for that particular day. A cancellation notification will be emailed to students and posted on the website by 2pm on the day of lessons. When class is cancelled due to inclement weather, a make-up opportunity will be provided.

I have been teaching piano since 2004, enamored with children since 1992, and playing piano for as long as I can remember. I received a B.A. in Music Performance from San Francisco State University in 2006. I love to play classical music, and am a songwriter inspired by both classic and current acoustic folks/ rock guys like Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, and Sufjan Stevens.
